The rooms are great-sized and functional with the big balcony, so that guests have essentials. The location is picturesque, the staff is really helpful and genuinely professional.

Quiet restful location. Lovely sea view from our balcony. Good breakfast. All very pleasant. Further from train station than we realised. Took a taxi but later discovered we could have taken 2 buses to the door.

Reasonably clean amazing accommodation with attentive staff and picturesque location to the sea side. A huge variety of goodies for breakfast. Private parking on site provided. Everything very comfortable.

The position and the balcony.

The room was very dull and the furniture was old.

The location and view were phenomenol. The price of our room could not be beat and the breakfast was lovely - especially compared to the hotels we stayed at in Paris and the French Riviera. Our only regret is that we weren't able to plan more time for our stay in Sanremo. We would love to return again and would definitely choose Maristella for our hotel.

We were saddened a bit by the rundown condition of the hotel but fully understand the cost of maintaining waterfront property and it would not prevent us from recommending it or returning. Our room was very clean and the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff more than outweighed the exterior's appearance.

The location near the embankment was beautiful and great, and the room I booked was clean with central heating, a work desk, and a TV.

A statement - not a complaint - maybe it was us but we found the hotel very difficult to find - a bit tucked away and when driving - foreign car and country - a really clear idea of where to aim for is a must. Not well sign posted either on internet or reality. Hundreds of scooters buzzing around like wasps round a jam jar do not help one little bit. Nothing to say adversely about the hotel itself - fine for price paid.

The location is perfect for beach lovers, as it is just a short walk away from the sandy shores. The staff at this hotel provide excellent service and are always attentive to the needs of their guests. I was impressed with the basic amenities provided in the rooms, which included a big balcony where I could relax and enjoy the view. Not to mention, the breakfast offered was delicious and filled with a diverse selection of options.

A truly old-fashioned hotel with an air of genteel decrepitude - it took us back 60 years in time. Excellent welcome, good free parking and in walking distance of the shops & restaurants even for a couple in their mid-seventies. We disagree with the reviewers who have been critical of this hotel - we liked it.
